The Met Police welcome near neighbours Old Hamptonians to Imber Court for the first ever League meeting between the two clubs. Old Hamptonians have had a meteoric rise through the leagues, recording three promotions in the last three seasons. It provides an interesting local quiz answer, with both clubs being historically based in the county of Middlesex but now playing their competitive rugby in the Surrey Leagues. The Clubs have met before however. A Papa Johns cup match brought the clubs together in what turned out to be the Met’s final game of the 23-24 season. The Old Boys left with a colossal victory, some 11 tries to the good.
This season, the sides meet on the back of one win and one defeat, both having succumbed to table-topping Chipstead. Hamptonians have a losing bonus point advantage from that defeat.
The Met XV has a familiar ring to it although there are several positional changes in the pack. The back division has its third centre combination of the season a certain familiarity in the other five jerseys.
