The Met should have begun the defence of their PSUK Cup with a return to the Welsh Valleys, on 21st October. South Wales Police and the Met have a very rich rugby history, both Forces having produced a number of full international players in the days before rugby went professional.
Unfortunately, the travel distance and the late kick-off (requiring an overnight stay) has meant that the Met cannot raise a squad for the fixture. A sad state of affairs for the Cup Holders and a brutal critique of current attitudes to Police sport
