Women's Squad steps up recruitment drive in readiness for 29th March re-boot

A Ladies XV is an important part of the Met's ethos. We are very keen to see this part of the Club grow
- Jake Cottrell - Director of Rugby

The Met Women rugby squad is currently recruiting new players. The Women have had a somewhat turbulent existence over the last few years but with the Club keen to reach out to a wider community, there is now a drive to increase the number of squad members.

With the coronavirus pandemic having had something of an adverse effect on mass-participation sport, the Women are keen to see rugby playing its part on the road back to a healthy nation. Women's rugby has had a huge rise in interest and participation over the last two seasons, particularly in the Met's home area of South West London. The Met would love to turn this interest into even greater participation and are inviting anyone interested to come to Imber Court and join them.

All standards are welcome and there is no requirement to work for the Metropolitan Police. The Club has been open for many years and now views itself as a community club more than a "works XV".

The Met Women will train on Monday evening at 7.15pm at Imber Court Sports Club once community rugby gets going again. You are very welcome to turn up to have a look (social distancing notwithstanding) and try it out and, if you are interested in joining or would like more information, do get in touch by emailing metpolice-.rugbyteam@met.police.uk
