The hiatus in the Met's League Season has been filled with the revival of what used to be a regular fixture against London Irish. Both clubs have enjoyed mixed fortunes since the adoption of the formalised league structure and professionalism in 1996. Whilst The Irish were formerly near-neighbours across the river in Sunbury, they have since had several homes, although Sunbury has remained their spiritual base as far as the academy and amateur club has been concerned. It is wonderful to host them at Imber Court once again, particularly in the Met's Centenary Season and it is to be hoped that the tradition of drinking the home club out of Guinness will also be revived!
The Met welcome back recent absentees Sam Bailey, Joe Stirrup and Dylan Richards and introduce a new second row partnership of Ben Buxton and Seb Parrish, while Jamie Cummie makes a rare appearance on the wing. Dave Mils makes a guest appearance in the front row.
The Met don't resume their League campaign until 16th March so their next competitive match will be the PSUK Cup game against Dyfed Powys on Wednesday, 13th March, at North Bristol RFC.
