This afternoon the Metropolitan Police entertain their Parisian counterparts in a match to celebrate MPRFC's Centenary.
The fixture was first played in January 1924, shortly after MPRFC's official formation in September 1923.
The Met have a huge squad with over 35 players making themselves available for the historic fixture. The starting XV welcomes the return of Club skipper Cormac Healy who missed last Saturday's draw with Bec Old Boys owing to operational commitments. James Moore replaces Steve Routledge in the second row after the latter's injury on Saturday and Charlie Burman and Earl Gorman make welcome appearances in the 1st XV.
Ile de France Police, playing under the flag of the Fédération Sportive de la Police Nationale, were in danger of not fulfilling the fixture owing to the heightened security status in Paris and its surrounds. We are delighted to welcome their players and officials to Imber Court this afternoon and look forward to a typical Anglo-French encounter.
