Full range of training activities bring rugby back to "normal"

The Met Police start preseason training with a vengeance as the calendar turns over to August. The newly reconstituted Women's XV has been training for several weeks and had its first competitive game at the Matt Ratana festival (see article elsewhere). An excellent victory has given the Women a huge boost, and they can look forward to a promising first competitive season. Training takes place at Imber Court from 7:15pm every Monday.

The Men start their assault on Surrey 2 on 18th September with a visit to London Media. Pre-season begins next Wednesday (4th August) at 7.15pm. Once again under the watchful eye of Director of Rugby Jake Cottrell, the Met will be looking to push-on to even greater heights after last season's hiatus.

Meanwhile, the ever-popular O2 Community Touch rugby continues every Monday evening, and everyone is welcome to turn-up and give it a go. To date the oldest participant has been 63 years old, the youngest 14, and several women have enjoyed their first on-field rugby here before moving across to the Women's Training squad.

Everyone is welcome to come to any of the sessions pre-season. The Met Police is actively seeking more playing members across all its squads. You do not need to be a serving Police Officer to join and play for the Club. Contact Cormac Healy or Beena Chadha for more information
